The Xbox agenda is to get you stuck in a subscription service and to cut out the middle man. Consoles are sold at a loss for their first couple years normally and the series S and X have been out long enough that they're not bread-winning at all. Games are and gamepass certainly was.

It used to be an actual trigger for me, because of the hate I associate with it… and then I got it so much I am now inured to it. But it still makes me feel a space is not safe for me.
