SHE/HER/HERS. I like spontaneity as long as I know what to expect. Calzone Wink. Books. Beverages. Cats. Kansas. 🌻💙🌻

Well, windows open today was nice while it lasted.
BUT. I still have my supersonic mom ability to hear a kid whimpering ‘mom’ from across the house. 💪🏼
Also at some point in the last six or eight months I decided to start stocking medical gloves in our medicine cabinet and it really paid off for tonight me.
My trusty Bissell Green Machine bit the dust. This discovery was made at 11:05pm tonight.

If they are flipping seats in MISSISSIPPI????
That's on the same level as "waffle house is closed due to inclement weather"
Topeka just gave a GIANT middle finger to H. McClure. Good work, people.

More than that, I’m excited to see Spencer Duncan lead our city.

How is it only 2pm? I forgot how much you can get done when you actually have time. Breakfast and indoor golf with B. Got side flower beds ready for winter. Teaching our youngest how to mow.
First free Saturday since August 30th and WHAT IS THIS FEELING.
Apologies to my neighbor who might be out with her young kid for blasting Lily Allen’s ‘Pu$$y Palace’ I’d been vibing to Florence & the Machine’s new album and it kept playing other songs. And of course I got stuck in my dish gloves.
That sounds amazing but also like they’d blow away! I’m on road crew for the first time and have learned so much.
Today is first of three for us. Band-tober indeed!
It’s a great day for a marching band competition!
SEATTLE YOU DID IT!!!!!!!!
We’ve been rooting for ya from Kansas!
I can’t stay up any longer. Fingers crossed when I wake up I learn the Mariners were able to pull out the W on this one.
Last cross country meet of the season. Kansas is gorgeous in such a special way to me.
It was definitely an office with high expectations and sometimes we had very tough work to power through, but I was lucky to be part of such a dedicated team.
Uh, other coworkers had the same idea. I’ve worked with some of the best people. 🥰😭🥺
Donuts for my office one last time before I go.
Tying to explain my disdain for the Yankees to the kids. “They’re sorts the equivalent of how Misery is for KU.”
WAKE UP JAYHAWKS IT IS GAME DAY!! TOUCHDOWN!!!

Trust me, I feel this. Deeply. I don’t promise to have it figured out. But I am blocking two hours a day for what I call “this shit here”: the headlines from the majors, the 9 or so newsletters in areas I follow, a scroll through my subscribed content in Gmail, & then I clock back out.
I think I'll give up constant doomscrolling, but also the times require hypervigilance? It's an impossible balance.

I first saw the H1B nonsense on here Friday, and we needed to extricate a team member from fieldwork for immediate return. So in lieu of a society, we must scroll 😭
This week has been…a lot (waves hands at society)…but we’ve been VERY busy LITERALLY touching grass and being outside. It makes a world of difference. Get off your devices my friends.
In bed at 10:30pm last night after band, up at 4:45am this morning for cross country.
Once we get through today we’ve survived one of the busiest weeks of fall.
