I had reason to think about porters today, and aside from the G-d Damn Pigeon from Spiteful Brewing, the Edmund Fitzgerald from Great Lakes Brewing is well worth trying in the reasonably local to Chicago category.

I swear, I was just trying to figure out if there was a way to say hi to someone I knew from long ago and see if the toaster oven that had been returned to her by arduous motorcycle trip had come through OK, and I got the Sierra Nevada Magnetic Arc.

Christ, as though George Lucas hasn't spent so much time fucking up Star Wars that there is what seems to be an ongoing fan reconstruction from laserdiscs, found 35 mm reels, and so forth, there's a "director's cut" of THX 1138. (Hi, ICE!)
