we're getting all the downsides of cyberpunk (social alienation, ruthless hyper capitalism, digital mass surveillance state) but none of the promised upsides (cheap street food, cool jackets, super drugs that make you really fast and strong before they kill you)

the first episode where it really Feels like that classic Trek everybody loves. Sulu is officially the helmsman, Uhura is there, McCoy has his first 'I'm a doctor, not a ___', Spock says 'fascinating'... all the character bits are starting to come together

there is, ofc, kind of a question as to whether i finish TNG and then go to DS9 or watch both shows at the same time considering they ran together (and then i'd also have to do that for voyager)
I am, of course, having a lot of fun watching TOS but i'm ngl, i am very much looking forward to when i eventually get to ds9 lol
