Midnight. A light flickers on in the darkness. Coils of smoke hang in the projector's glow. The movie is about to begin, and the theater waits in breathless silence.

BLACK FLAME is finally here. You can get it at the link below, and wherever books are sold.

please do what the Criterion Channel is asking you to do. This movie changed my life.
Friday evening viewing recommendation? Watch VELVET GOLDMINE (1998) in our THE 90’s DOES THE 70’s collection!
❤️‍🔥 Todd Haynes’s deliriously glittering, hedonistic glam rock film follows journalist Arthur Stuart (Bale) as he launches an investigation into the mystery of Bowie-esque rocker Brian Slade.

If you need queer shit in your life: "Black Flame" by @scumbelievable.bsky.social. One of the most upsetting works of fiction I've read by a lot of metrics, but nothing will make you want to rip off your clothes and scream and do blood magic to send God himself to Hell for his sins like this book.

HUGE win for that community, congrats!!!

It'll be interesting to see how certain media outlets cover this, I think
National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

They should just let the Muppets host the Oscars. Everyone would love it.

A great reminder that the Oscars are notable solely as a reflection of the tastes of Oscar voters is that at the 2013 awards, The Master didn't win a single thing.

Adams lost to Anne Hathway, Les Miserables
Phoenix lost to Daniel Day-Lewis, Lincoln
Hoffman lost to Christoph Waltz, Django Unchained

Alright, first book of the year read. MANHUNT by @scumbelievable.bsky.social

Brutal, poignant, gnarly, devastating, agonizing, transcendent. Big recommend to fans of post-apocalyptic and queer fiction, but holy hell, it has a trigger warning ten miles high.

Bad laughter feeds on itself. Contempt for art or perspectives that feel alien thirsts for validation from the people next to you. I get the argument that we're all entitled to our own reactions, but actually, no. Not when they're so loud and performative that they cut into the experience of others.
