I like fish, trading cards, software and business.
There isn't such a thing as politically neutral.

The word for somebody who sides with fascists *some* of the time, to get a *balanced* perspective from *both sides*, but still postures like they are chill and not a bad person is:

Fascist.

For real though, is there any literature at all about TCG design, or is basically 90% of the written word on the subject "Making Magic"?

If you're designing a system with mana, you have decades of dos and don'ts. If not, it looks like you have to reinvent everything.

I wonder how piranhas act in nature, let's check youtube...

* AI slop
* Channel using them as a prop for what is clearly animal death p*** but it pretends to be educational.
* TV documentaries that try to make it "badass."

There's basically no way to get an honest view of the animal.

Every card from release, tons of sets, and immediately put you against AI opponents with dozens of full-power decks. The AI attacks and blocks correctly. It even let's you buy playsets of your starting cards immediately.

Gold standard. No other digital tcg port quite nailed it like this afaik.

When south park shits on global warming, and legitimizes right wing ideas, then a decade later laughs at themselves about it and makes an anti-trump season;

There's nothing neutral about it. They treat harming our lives with misinfo like the setup to a joke.

So many obnoxious ai coding ads.

Melee straight up unironically believes this.

It's beyond stupid. Imagine if gg tried to ban anything better than a ps1 pad for 30 years.

Americans: We don't want to learn the metric system.

Also Americans: I have no way of visualizing this number, so let's convert tree ice to golden retrievers.

"Trade up" challenges are really crass. I would go so far as letting your kid do it is bad parenting.

The obsession with cardboard equity is already gross, but competitive panhandling for it is completely disgusting.

A disturbing part of game design is looking at a mechanic or design so good it makes you wonder how many decades of learning you will need before you can create something on that level.

Random super petty pet peeve, but the "O" in "OC is almost always redundant in context.

"My OC"

If it's not "O", then it's not "your" C!

You can just say "character"!

I happen to have contacts in most areas of the tabletop and collectibles industry. This unfortunately burdens me with information that's upsetting specifically to some pokemon collectors.

Like, sorry dudes. I promise I'm not contributing to the fights at walmart and costco.

My angels have so much energy and curiosity. I never look at them without being enchanted.

They are quite aggressive, but the wide space, thick plants, and crystal water keep them very comfortable. They get along well.

Dear pokemon romhack creators:

Backporting every modern mechanic is like watching titanic and saying "this should be updated so the characters have smart phones." It's a really lame take.

You know those novelty jelly beans that taste like mold and farts?

AI has added that excitement to the old activity of copying and pasting random code you found.

I've played a ton of card games competitively, including control, for most of my life to establish BG for this take;

"Counterspell" has been a net negative for the long term design of M;tG. The card should never have been printed, and that mechanic never a part of blue's identity.

Bsky does something other socials haven't for a while. It provides little windows to see updates on normal people living, and not just people that are basically professional updators.

Being heard shouldn't need to be a job that you aspire to.

That flow state when everything works first try. The idioms all make sense. Every line feels like a tetromino coming down for a full clear. And soon the module will become a black box containing magic elves that can handle any input.

I run into a lot of AI bros. They want exceptional qualities to become obsolete so that their mediocrity will be more valuable. Of course I repeatedly disappoint them.

It's an advantage for me, though not a welcome one.

I'll never understand the snide bitterness old people have toward how young people connect with each other.

They built the divided world that young people have to live in. Also maybe they do value tangible in person experiences, fogeys are just unaware because they are the ones disconnected.
