The reason that Rand Paul's statements are sometimes newsworthy is because he occasionally says something that is obviously, intuitively, true, when the Republican Brand™️ is Lies.
If and until the GOP acknowledge, repent, and are punished for the Big Lie about the 2020 election (which is essentially am umwritten party platform now), US democracy is in danger.
