The only way forward for the Church is to strive to be where Christ is, and he is with the poor, for whom the Passion of Christ, the scourging, the rejection, the intimidation and cruelty are lived daily in the flesh.
We have to ask to see him, and that is a matter of the heart.

Certainly worth a look. He has also written other things on the Cappadocians.
The reference, by the way, is to Nanzianzus. I looked for it in my copy of the Orations :)

The footnote (177) cites Gregory of Nyssa, but in the text of the book (pg 160) the reference seems to be to Gregory of Nazianzus.
The book is brisk and enriching to read. I highly recommend it.
