For about 10 minutes, tonight was one of the best aurora displays I’ve seen all year. Typically at NB latitudes, even when the aurora is visible to the eye, it still appears colourless. Tonight was an exception and I could briefly see colours with the naked eye!

The centre of our galaxy. The portion of the sky no night photographer can resist. This is my favourite time of year to enjoy it – when it appears perfectly vertical, well before midnight, in the crisp fall air.

Great display of aurora happening tonight. I could see the green portions very easily with the naked eye (albeit mostly colourless, as per usual, due to the limitations of human vision).
