Oh no! None were planted on my bday either and I made this thing.

Good news is you can join a community tree planting this summer and help pay it forward. 🙂

My birthday tree project made the news! 🥳

Thanks @sfgate.com for helping me get this project out there & for sharing the inspiration behind it.

We just hit 14,000 searches in less than 3 days 🙀

I'm so happy to see so many people enjoying it. 🥰

Did you know approximately half of San Francisco's street trees were planted by @sftrees.bsky.social?

You can request a tree for the front of your home or business and Friends of the Urban Forest will help you plant it for FREE! 🙀

Despite the program's success there are still angry people who selfishly demand to be able to drive everywhere w/ impunity.

If you’re fighting for safer streets and need help pushing back on vibes and false narratives perpetuated by the status quo reach out and let’s talk!

SF's Slow Streets have been wildly successful at building community while reducing noise, improving quality of life & public safety.

The program's success is due to the 100s of stewards across the city who maintain them & organize events.

Unfortunately, this is not true & only looks at 18 days of data. In the 45 days prior to 1/5/24 there were 471 crashes in the CRZ that injured 211 people.

In the 45 days since 1/5/24 there have been 441 crashes that injured 186 ppl, which is a ~12% drop in injuries.

Our analysis looked at city data & eight case studies where waterfront roadways & industrial areas were converted into public parks.

In every case, these conversions generated an economic windfall for local businesses.
