Hi Bluesky! My name is Jochen, and I'm located in Germany. I'm a father and a husband, that is working in IT. In my spare time, I haul around mostly #Olympus / #OMSYSTEM MFT cameras with some #Nikon in the mix, photographing pretty much anything that catches my eye. But mostly nature related things.

Another image from this summer Greenland adventures, this time during a moody day with a bit of fog, and the signature red sails.
City life is all about contrasts. Massive steel and glass rising above, while people move through it in their daily rhythm. Not made of steel and glass, and tiny in comparison. The architecture sets the stage, but it’s the flow of passersby that keeps the city alive.

I asked #ChatGPT to count the windows on that image. First it said 12. I asked if it is certain about that. It corrected itself to 15 and offered me to show where the windows are. Here we go. 😉
I know, it's not yet #silentsunday. But I won't be sitting in front of the computer tomorrow.

I thought the large hadron collider would look differently! 😉
This solidifies my assumption that the RAW engine is the problem. If Photomator and Pixelmator Pro would like to compete with Lightroom, Photolab, aso, they need to either improve Apple's RAW engine or implement their own.
I've been playing around a bit more. It doesn't matter if you export the image as jpeg, heic or tiff. The quality is compromised for all of them. It also doesn't make a difference if you export the image with Photomator or Pixelmator Pro.
Yes, that's a crop. The full photo is okay. But I noticed a few days back, seeing images on a bigger projection, that something was a bit off. The images appeared a bit blurry. So I started testing. And now I can unsee it again.

Right, I'm talking about DxO Photolab. Leaves a good impression!
The best thing you can do for your mental health: Go outside! Every step helps, and every breath of fresh air makes a difference. No matter if you go alone or with someone else. Just go outside.
What I see here is a huge discrepancy on Photomator's side. I really love the usability of Photomator, but this together with the still missing OM System RAW support for OM-3 and OM-5II mixed with the total silence since Apple bought them is a brutal deal breaker for me. 😢
#Photolab 9 vs #Photomator. I hope you can still see the difference once Bsky is done with the image.
Good suggestion! 😀
I’m building an Awesome Europe 🇪🇺 list!
Like the Awesome lists, but for Europe: great IT projects & companies that help us stand on our own feet.

Got suggestions? PRs very welcome! 👉 codeberg.org/brejoc/Aweso...

Which one do you like more? Would be awesome if you'd say why.

Some office days are better than others!
Yesterday, when roaming the forests, I was so lucky to see a doe with her fawn. The fawn discovered me first, but wasn't that shy (yet). I assume that's going to change very soon. And that's probably for the better.
