Yep, that’s me. It was my kids, living and protesting on Capitol Hill, who were getting tear-gassed. This normie dad went from “there’s a few bad apples” to “do not ever trust the cops” overnight.

When the SPD got done teargassing and assaulting Seattle during the George Floyd protests, they got 19K complaints of police violence, which resulted in just 143 investigations and only 25 wrist-slap disciplinary actions. Our entire accountability structure failed. BUT (1/2)

he spoke with more feeling and authenticity when they retired all the police horses

Today I learned former Seattle police chief Gil Kerlikowske (2001-2009) was the head of CBP under Obama. While at SPD he helped shield officers from consequences for excessive force & had his duty weapon stolen from his car (lol) BUT also 2003 was the first time in 15 years SPD didn't kill anyone

Started/going. Joe's gonna need to scrub some stuff from the internet if he wants to be an effective CEO for the Chamber of Commerce. Might want to start with this page ON THE WA SENATE DEMS' WEBSITE

(solid burn @organizewithshaun.bsky.social)
There was also a funny moment earlier where former state Sen. Joe Nguyen opposed the Well WA Fund as Commerce Dept. head, and Rep. Scott pointed out Nguyen had sponsored a bill 6 years ago in #WALeg to create a progressive payroll tax just like this one, and asked him what had changed.

This guy went to work today, put a mask on, kidnapped a 5 year old child, and then used him as bait so both he and his father could be sent behind bars

meanwhile Patty Murray's over there negotiating MORE money for ICE
This poll shows that 74% of Democrats support abolishing ICE, with 53% *strongly* supporting getting rid of the agency.

Any elected Democrat who wants ICE to exist is outside the mainstream of their party and the people they purport to represent.
YouGov poll - In the future, would you support or oppose...

Eliminating ICE as a federal agency?
Support 42%
Oppose 45%

Reducing ICE’s size and funding
Support 48%
Oppose 37%

this guy has gotta go
Rep Jamie Pedersen re SB 6218 withholding payment to feds: My heart is certainly in favor of SB 6218. However, the Governor has let us know that because the members of his administration who approve withholding payments to the federal government would face criminal penalties, he would veto the bill.
