She had the best birthday of her life. She believed me when I took credit for personally arranging an explosion in the chipmunk population. She had a blast, and fortunately no chipmunks were harmed in the production of this motion picture (though not all have been as lucky).

It’s not a they, it’s a he, trump, who is trying to hijack all those roles.

Lots of other hallmarks of fascism: mobilization of violent street forces, glorification of an all-knowing leader, etc. in addition to the basic principle you mentioned. Maybe not technical fascism, but walks like a duck.

The new Chairman of the Kennedy Center, aspiring chancellor of the American academy, network talent director and center of rather unique cabinet meetings may side with Kershaw on this one, Tom. And anyway, it’s not as if Kershaw didn’t have a hell of a lot more to say about fascism than that.
