Introducing Design OS—the missing design process between your idea and your codebase.

Step 1: Define your product's vision
Step 2: Design your screens
Step 3: Export production-ready components

Not mockups. Real components. Ready to implement.

Yup - Took several days to dial in the brand guidelines and aesthetic for the training/prompting.

Today's project: "Hiring" a video production manager.

Cool! Wasn't sure how interesting this topic / project would be. Seems super niche and nerdy. 🤷‍♂️

My video today tells (shows) the story of how I started with an over-engineered n8n workflow but ended up with a perfectly tuned Claude Code Skill.

Different type of video from my usual. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo16...

Spent way too much time building a system for generating on-brand illustrations for Builder Methods, whenever and wherever I need them.

New course: Build with Claude Code

Not a user manual. It's practical, workflow-focused training on how professional builders actually use it.

Included in Builder Methods Pro. Early access is open now (with $100 off).

Kicking it off with a live AMA on Jan 20.

Armchair quarterbacking someone else's business is not helpful.

You can't possibly have more actionable information than the founder does--primarily their motivations and priorities.

Put blackout shades on all the bedroom windows. Huge sleep improvement.

Also, apparently I snore now.

Turns out building this as a Claude Code Skill was much better than N8N. Lesson learned.

You can just build things.
January 5, 2026 at 10:16 PM
nope. I did take its advice though (the 2nd time) ;)

really means it this time.

Thanks!

Claude just told me it's bedtime.

The best designers are exceptional systems thinkers, which makes them dangerous product builders in 2026.

Haven't watched that show yet. Too into Plauribus.

2025 was like the first season of a sci-fi show: Just there to orient us in this weird new world.

2026 is season 2, when the story really gets going.

I use plan mode on most things.

but I plan bigger picture in claude and carry things over... like moving from building the app to writing copy for the marketing site to planning strategy, etc. That stuff needs to know the latest from the app build.

This was my first use of Design OS on a real, shipped app.

Took about 7 work days start-finish. Smoothest design- to-build process I've done yet.

Full walkthrough of the process is available inside Builder Methods Pro.
Reading every response is impossible. Missing important ones is expensive.

So I built InboxSummaries: It reads my incoming surveys, etc. and surfaces insights, trends and opportunities I'd otherwise miss.

Using it daily now. Should I open it up?

Really want to see a smoother hand-off between Claude Code and Claude projects. I constantly move between the two (Claude for ideating and planning and Claude Code for building).

Fun at parties.

I find Opus 4.5 is excellent both in Claude Code and in Cursor's Agent mode. I use both regularly.

Claude Code for big, autonomous tasks.

Cursor agent when I'm working with agent more collaboratively through a problem or design tweaks.
