I saw the Vulgar Boatmen live only once back in Chicago after “You and Your Sister” came out but I’ll always love that album and that band. That Silos/ Vulgar Boatmen/Silos show is still the best TRIPLE bill I’ve ever seen.

I was lucky (and old) enough to see them with Olson a couple times in the early ‘90s. The first time they were opening for The Silos and The Vulgar Boatmen in Chicago. I became an instant fan for life.

I miss the incredible harmonies they had in those days but the band still sounds great.

On the fifth anniversary of the insurrection, I can only say that its profoundly sad that convicted seditionists face no consequences and that Trump was ever allowed to hold office again.
Jan. 6 was one of the most shameful days in our history, only the whitewashing is sadder.
Its pathetic frankly.

That’s great, Tucker. We’ve seen Waxahatchee and Swearin’ live a few times and every show was incredible. I hope you have a fantastic time, sir.

Waxahatchee - "Tigers Blood". This kinda snuck up on me to become possibly my favorite song from last year. Can’t say I’ll miss 2025 one bit but songs like this at least made it more bearable. youtu.be/FnZDvYiTSJs?si… via @YouTube

“The search light in the big yard
Swings 'round with the gun
And spotlights the snowflakes
Like the dust in the sun
It's Christmas in prison
There'll be music tonight
I'll probably get homesick
I love you, goodnight”

Heartbroken that our dear friend, Pat Finn, passed away. As kind as he was brilliantly hilarious. This video of him at our Chicago apartment in ‘96, making his baby daughter Cassidy pretend to drive a bus and do karate kicks is priceless. Rest In Peace, Finner. We love you.❤️☘️

If I’d gotten pulled over, I’m sure Finner could’ve made the cop laugh and gotten me out of trouble. He could make ANYONE laugh.

Just remembered the time we were doing shows in Colorado and after driving for several hours through the mountains, I noticed that Pat had written in big letters on the back of the car I was driving: “COPS SUCK”. Hahaha.

God bless Pat’s much-loved wife Donna and their wonderful kids.

Thanks so much, Brandi! To be honest, I was terrified when Nikki asked me to do that as a surprise but it was such a great experience. I’m so very grateful to her and I was so happy for Conan.🙂

As our mutual friend Tom Purcell said, “I’ve never met anyone more loved than Pat Finn.”
