This @nypd-official.bsky.social disrespect reminds me of the occasion when a cop at a PUBLIC OUTREACH EVENT at Grand Army Plaza said "do you speak English" in same racist tone. I had not heard her Q bc their stereo was blasting. Still no idea of her gibberish.

A Minnesota landlord tried to evict a family because their autistic son was said to be making "too much noise." Legal aid intervened, citing disability discrimination, and kept them housed.

Now Trump's HUD is slashing the grants that made this defense possible, part of its assault on fair housing.

Once while in line at the dermatologist's, a woman described to me how her mom's BF whisked them all across the river to Canada a few days before the 1967 rebellion. He'd sensed tensions. She, her mom, & her baby brother had just arrived UpSouth. They returned when Detroit was closer to safe & calm.
On this day in 1967, the Detroit Rebellion ended. During the conflict, at least 43 people, 33 of whom were Black, had been killed—most at the hands of law enforcement.

Seeing a public servant, particularly of Padilla's rank & composure, be silenced, pushed out of a press room, pressed to the floor almost on his face, all the while he did not resist, is dead-sickening. State bigotry is consistent w/ the US status quo of exploitation and exclusion, escalated v. far.
If this is how this administration responds to a Senator with a question, you can only imagine what they're doing to farmworkers, to cooks, and to day laborers throughout California and across the country.

We will hold this administration accountable.

1/2 Appreciate the organizing of #NoKings protests nationwide. Why though is virtual "training" only ENG, not SPN too? Even recognizing that younger people who are US citizens whose parents are Mexican, are bilingual, it seems like this option would be considerate & a good model? @indivisible.org

"Trust in the process," "Listen to what the universe is telling you" is something I have experienced women in privilege who don't want to DO THE WORK saying, "liberal" or "progressive" women, older & younger. It's insidious victim-blaming, absence of accountability, assumption for self-convenience.
