Is it not important to your own credibility to investigate and report on local predatory behavior that is brought to your attention, when you neglect to conduct due diligence? I brought the misconduct of Jeff Cowin to your attention more than one year ago and you have failed to correct the record.

Some of us are doing this work for years already; the laws and institutions strongly favor landlords in Detroit and we have no representative truly championing dignity of home in the smallest degree, despite rhetoric from the mayoral candidates.

What action was I taking on Reddit r/Detroit and r/Michigan that prompted the mods to ban me indefinitely from r/Detroit and delete my post on r/Michigan?

I was ASKING A QUESTION!
Civilly.
Like @padilla.senate.gov.

So now we have a website, costing hundreds of dollars. www.speakupdetroit.com
Speak Up Detroit
Each and every one of us deserves the dignity of a safe and stable home. No landlord should be permitted to neglect conditions, harass tenants or illegally evict tenants. We fight to shine a light for...

Spring 2024, r/Detroit mods deleted my posts that violated NO rules, then sent me the most patronizing and temper-trantrum-toned message I've ever received from a "platform" when I politely asked what rule(s) my post violated.
Six months ago, r/Michigan mods deleted my post that violated NO rules.

Yet as we know censorship has a long storied history of white male supremacy in the U.S., and the tech bros have only emboldened bigotry and silencing. Repression is not new to women who dare to "speak up," move from object to subject in situations of oppression and injustice, as bell hooks penned.

Another D bus norm that I like and haven't seen elsewhere, is folks who pay the fare in cash asking if anyone wants their transfer or putting the transfer in a conspicuous place, like wedging it in a stop signpost.
Whereas in NYC I saw no one holding the subway turnstile/gate out of apathy or fear.

That's a heart-warming scene of helpfulness!
I appreciate how some people keep their eyes out for others, even outside the bus, and call out to the driver to ask the driver to pause if it looks like they might not pause. And these drivers, most are so competent & sweet -- deserve FAR higher salary.

2/2 Maybe if Indivisible had taken my application seriously years ago I could have advocated for this "DEI" option internally, more involved and complicated as it might be, still valuable!

2/2 This week my head/heart heaved when I overheard a petite elderly woman say in the common modest tone, that she is worried about her social security. The younger woman affirmed "Yes it's crazy; you know, you earned that money." The three of us then laughed on the absurd Musk/Trump bromance. 😩
