There's a weird thing here i've noticed as i've gotten older that "this place used to be great" is just people reminiscing about their childhood/youth rather than reckoning with what was actually going on at the time. Guess what it was probably bad!

Thinking about this a bit more but something that seems lost these days is that a nice short punchy game fills a spot similar to watching a dumb movie on a weekend afternoon. Replaying the original COD4 or Titanfall 2 campaign kinda scratches the same itch as watching con air. Don't see that anymore

I'm sure it's probably different bands now, but I remember going to many local punk shows in my 20s for 5 bucks or nothing and seeing like Primus and the darkness and buckethead for like 20 bucks. The most I've ever paid was like 300 for MCR reunion when they toured after COVID and that's an outlier

Honestly really liked that about Titanfall 2 it gets in and out and varies gameplay enough times that you find it novel the entire 5-7 hours it could take you to beat it. A gold nugget of a game.
