I 100% would not be annoyed about that trade if it were not for the fact that Carlo's been in trade rumours less than a year after they gave up Minten. I swear to fucking god if they trade him away and only manage to get like a 2nd round pick or something...

Hey great idea, they just need to go out and find a young prospect on the cusp of breaking into the NHL as an impact player. Someone like Boston got last year, Fraser Minten. If only Toronto had someone like that...

Stop twisting the knife!

I was so high on him. He was just so geared for the NHL, even if he wasn't getting the points in junior I was so confident he'd be an impact guy even if he never became a star. His two way play was just too good.

Seeing all the rumours saying the Leafs should trade Carlo and Laughton is also making me feel all kinds of emotions, skewing heavily towards one in particular.

Seeing Minten and Greb both score playing against each other has me feeling all kinds of emotions

I love the sequence of effortlessly flip slamming the first guy, then making a (relatively) harmless looking bunch that that flat knocked the guy flat because he has Incredible Hulk strength behind it. All over in like 5 seconds.

Is it a coincidence that the guy targeted by Rodrigues' late/dirty hit is the same guy (Desharnais) who rocked Tkachuk with a clean open ice hit earlier in the game?

The Department of Panthers Safety thoroughly investigated and found it to be pure coincidence.
We have a goalie fight!

Miroslav Holinka on an 11 game point streak: 12 goals, 11 assists, 23 points.

Miroslav Holinka since November: 24 games, 19 goals, 27 assists, 46 points.

Holinka is now tied for 2nd in the WHL with 61 points in 37 games.

I love this goal. Cowan can see that the line between him and JT for a pass would be more easily blocked, so he puts on the brakes to create a better passing lane. JT sees this quickly and makes a quick pass behind his back to more easily avoid the defenseman's stick. Snipe. Goal. Celly.

#Leafs prospect Tinus Luc Koblar (#4 in white) with a nifty toe drag and snipe for his 5th goal of the season. He's been on a tear since returning from the World Juniors Division 1A tournament, now with 2 goals and 6 points in his last 8 games.

That was a disgusting assist by Knies

He's someone I coveted at the draft pretty bad. I still like Danford, but I also feel some vindication at how good Igor has gotten already lol

Personally, I love points-based player analysis 🙃

How did I only JUST notice Knies' insane between the legs pass on this?

What a pass from Knies!

Everyone knows that humans have evolved to have a separate pocket in their stomachs that is reserved purely for desserts, so they never get too full from dinner. This is a scientific fact.

No joke, he may not have the offensive chops as some of their other defensemen but he was basically the one guy on the team who was actually playing solid defense on a consistent, shift by shift basis.
December 27, 2025 at 10:15 PM
It's not even that. They're both going to have turnovers by virtue of them both having the puck a lot. But the two of them together is too much of the same thing. My worry they're both on the small-ish side and can get overpowered physically, that got exposed by Czechia a lot and is again today.

I like both Parekh and Reid individually as defensemen.

...I don't like them on the same pairing.
December 27, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Danford hasn't been perfect this game but he's been excellent. He had the second most ice time behind only Parekh after two periods, despite not getting any special teams time the 3rd period. He's been solid defensively and has been very good moving the puck.

That flip pass just now was perfect.

Cough
Not a Leafs prospect but Tij Iginla is a total dog, holy crap
December 27, 2025 at 3:41 AM
He's still not really one, in the sense that he's not likely to be a play creator. He's more of a play driver, who can help his team's offense by playing good defense and pushing the puck up the ice effectively. The occasional jumping into plays like that are a good sign for his overall value.

Ben Danford jumped up to lead the rush, goes to the net for the screen and gets a secondary assist on Canada's go ahead goal. He's been excellent in the first period so far, making solid decisions and playing his usual reliable defense.
December 27, 2025 at 2:11 AM
#Leafs prospect Tinus Luc Koblar (#4 in white and blue) almost set up one goal with a pretty pass, but got a secondary assist off another pretty pass right after. He has 6 points in 24 games in Sweden's pro league so far this year.
