Agatha Christie likely drew on her experiences as a débutante in Cairo c. 1909 when she wrote DEATH ON THE NILE. Her father had died & her mother didn't have the money for her to "come out" into London society. They only interacted with other Brits of course. This is her in Paris in 1906 ^PG
