re lrt: a couple weeks ago I was thinking about the impact streaming has had on "pop culture", partially because I was thinking of things like Breaking Bad and Lost and how I cant think of any shows that have had that level of pop culture impact in the past like... 10 years. Maybe Stranger Things??

(yall who live in the US probably don't know this but a lot of time when a new US produced show gets announced it'scommon for media outlets to list where it is available in the US only for it to turn out that those streaming serivces either don't exist in canada or haven't licensed it for canada)

It may just be my small town upbringing but it always boggled my mind when people called Vancouver No Fun City. There's SO much happening there all the time. I grew up somewhere with a bowling alley and a movie theatre that feels like its been on the verge of shutting down for a decade and that's it

I hadnt heard of the Celebration of Lights when I first moved so I missed it in 2023. Then I missed it last year cuz I had to move back to my hometown. Then I missed it this year because I still wasn't able to move back. And now its not even happening potentially ever again. Man fuck Sim

Im so bad af finding clothes I like but when I have the right clothes I feel like I can put together decently cute outfits... Nothing too fashionable or anything but I look cute.. if I can get my hands on clothes I like!! Why is that part so damn hard!!!

So I've discovered the reason I couldn't get Stomp's save system to work properly on Mac is because uh... turns out Godot doesn't like you saving files to the installation directory?? This wasn't a problem in Unity so I didn't even consider it.

Im very glad to have done the game jam and I'm very proud of what we managed to make in such a short period of time but mannn do NOT do a game jam when youre already feeling burnt out after a Kickstarter

Idk if other devs think this way but over the past couple months I've been really enjoying thinking of game development as my craft. That feels like a good term for what it is and how I feel about it. It's something I care about and take pride in and I enjoy improving my skills and process

Helping a friend get started with game development by doing a gamejam with her and helping teach her how to code and use Godot's node system is a really rewarding experience... it feels good to reach a point in your craft where you can help teach people something
