If Gillibrand can't figure out how to help her members message who is actually at fault for the shutdown during campaign season, then maybe she shouldn't be the DSCC chair.
3. Gillibrand is right—Republicans plan on making it very, very painful for Democrats if there is a shutdown, and Gillibrand is now overseeing the DSCC, which means she’s responsible for all the Senate Democratic candidates running in this cycle.
