I find the pacing of Xenoblade X DE to be much improved over the original.
With no BLADE levels and faster affinity gains, you have access to more sidequests and heart to hearts right away with minimal grinding.

Great movie! There is a degree of sincerity and whimsy here that I haven't felt about Superman in a long time. It's refreshing. It could've been an origin story again but it's not. We jump right into it.

For those worried about too many cutscenes/voiced character dialog in a Metroid game, go back and play Prime 3 (like I just did). It's shocking that every 10 mins you're talking with someone or getting radio calls. Not sure why IGN and other outlets seemed to just forget that?

One thing I appreciate about game-related discourse on BlueSky is that it's largely respectful and comes from people who've actually played the games they're championing.
That's so different from other spaces online where a lot of peoples' views just come from Youtube hater videos they've watched.

No, I 100% agree that computer RPGs these days have too much handholding. I, too, yearn for the days of being able to spend hours crafting my perfect build from hundreds of available options, only to discover that it mathematically cannot survive the mandatory rat fight portion of the first dungeon.
