I don't like to post places you can't easily get to. But this is seriously worth it.

I don't care if you are about destiny over choice. Many grand fictions are about one or the other not trying to be both at the same time.

Matrix: Choice
LOTR: Destinty
Star wars: Destiny
TNG: Choice
Babylon 5: Choice
Reading up on Dune the books and movie, I get frustrated because it doesn't know if it wants to be about destiny or choice.

Is the lisan al-gaib a false prophacy or can Paul actually see the future and lead humanity to salvation? Pick one!

Every culture with rice has had "slop bowls" longer than the United States has existed.

Wanted an excuse to try this local hyped chili crisp Kari Kari.

Low heat, super garlicy. It's more garlic than chili. It doesn't conflict in my mind with laoganma.

Recommend getting a small jar at uwajimaya to try out.

Cooking at home.

Filipino adobo with pork and tofu. Done in the style finished with coconut milk, with ginger gailan and garlic rice.

This place really has no business being this good late at night. These aren't fantastic chicken strips or fish and chips for an Indian place. They are fantastic period.

Marinated in Indian spice before coating panko and frying. Amazing and affordable.

Did you know this is home to the original portal cake?

Valve modeled it after this cake from this bakery.

I don't remember it being this "traditionally Christmasy" this time of the year. It looks like how mall christmas was in the 90s to early 2000s

This Barnes and Nobel seems new at the mall. The layout is an impressive maze for the size, and leans into books and things as collectables.

Mila we got soup dumplings both steamed and pan fried as well as a Jian Bing.

This is the best Jian Bing so far here, not saying much. But I'd trade lack of options for well balanced flavors and ingredients.

Frozen soup dumplings are never going to match hand made due to the thickness of skin.

Bagels from Toasted. I'd highly recommend going for their sweet bagels with middle eastern flavors. This date labneh and honey is fantastic, so is the pear cinnamon honey.

The quality of bagel is quite good especially on the toasted whole option.

Doing a double take today. Toasted and Mila are in the same location and we wanted both!

Xiao Chi Jie is what became Mila. This is the original location for nationally available quality frozen soup dumplings.

I'd have to figure out how to do SSX with like uzis.

I used to think $19 for a burger and fries is absurd, but given where things are now it's reasonably priced for a half pound of meat on top quality ingredients.

Wanted a medium rare burger, wish there was more sear but extremely juicy to the point of sogging my fries.

This section of the wall is like $4000+ of whiskey

Went back the next day for lunch. Noticed they had egg salad on the menu lunch only and I'm a sucker for it.

Very egg heavy. I prefer a balance of diced onions and pickles. But you are getting a lot for your money at $15 with fantastic fries.

The double toasted brioche bread is really nice.

I'd still highly recommend this place even with my complaints about today's dishes. They do their best with the chicken liver pate, the fried chicken sandwich and the burger they have.

The whiskey selection is extensive and well priced for the area.

Main went fancy, dry aged miso salmon and braised lamb shank with risotto.

The lamb is well cooked, super tender. I think it could use more seasoning or salty sauce to go with it.

The dry aged salmon has an interesting soft texture. It feels like a sidegrade from regular salmon.

Start off with fried Brussel sprouts with mezcal and apple, and a Seattle dog.

Brussel sprouts are great with the apple should really try that.

Seattle dog looks awesome and has good components but I almost want more cream cheese since it feels a little absent.
