Watch with wonder as I mainly post about movies, giant Japanese superheroes, and art/commission stuff!
Happy #ThrowBuThursday! Today, I'm bringing back a pic I got from the amazing @kokukokuboo.bsky.social back in 2018! 🥰📷

A rare problem - finding a Japanese television comedy from 20 years ago that is really good but isn't easily accessible with English subtitles online so you (I) have to resort to buying a cheap Chinese DVD online that is most likely just a bootleg anyways.

Share the weirdest, wildest, wackiest, WTF-est film you think should be in the Criterion Collection -

Always trust Hong Kong to keep things interesting. The Boxer's Omen remains one of the few movies to almost literally blow my mind. Just a face-melting goopy gross good time.

My most out of touch old man thing about modern ways of speaking/writing online is that I think using certain words like "mid" and "peak" makes people sound stupid.

"That movie was mid." "Light night's episode was peak!!"
Mid what? Peak what? Finish your sentence, please.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty proud of myself on this one.

I got the rundown of my time playing the Switch 1 and 2 (or as I like to call them sometimes, my Animal Crossing handheld where I also occasionally work out).

It's a quiet evening so I tried to make myself a grapefruit cocktail (no alcohol) and I'm pretty happy with it!!! 💪💪💪

I came dangerously close to go to the movies two nights in a row. But then I remembered it's discount Tuesday and I try to avoid the day where it's likely to be busier. I have so many movies to go see this month, I'm kinda surprised because January is a dead zone for movies.

Found in the background while rewatching Devilman: Crybaby. Words I utter to myself every time I go literally anywhere:

Been feeling the blahs since New Years, needed to get out of the house and treat myself. So tonight it's dinner and monkee movee.

Wondering if I should do go in completely blind to a one-night IMAX event of Japan's entry for Best International Film at this year's Oscars - a *three hour* drama about kabuki actors that spans multiple decades.

Thinking back to when I watched Champions of Justice (1971) a few weeks back. Luchador Mil Máscaras (a wrestler known to never wear the same mask twice) effortlessly switches masks without showing his face. It's one of the coolest things I've seen in recent memory. 😂

One issue as a home owner is that you'll get cold calls of people trying to buy your home. It's reached the point where I just dick with them.
Caller: "Would you be interested in selling your property?"
Me: "I'm sorry, that house blew up, it doesn't exist anymore."
Caller: "Oh... uh.... *hangs up*"

Seems like after watching big snooty award shows, I have to follow them up with some real cinema as a palate cleanser.

Sitting back with the Golden Globes and loving the magic of cinema.

Saturday night!!! Time to watch bad movies starring people who have zero acting abilities!!

While I'm sure it'll be an excruciatingly long movie that'll be a chore to sit through, let's stop spreading rumors about movies that **are not even done being filmed** thank you.

First work week of the new year is officially done and it really tested me. Truly felt like the longest week I've experienced in a long time.

My recording of the Ultraman Live stage show in November has 1000 views and 15 likes, which (to me) is the equivalent of one million views and 15 billion likes.

It's a fresh and clean #ThrowBuThursday! This is a classic Bu and Nar pic by the wonderful @zillabean.bsky.social from way back in 2015! Bath time is fun time, always remember to wash behind your ears! 🧼

Huge lol at this dumb Twitch email that includes a fake screenshot of fake people being like "OMG where's Bu????"

Wishing for more Namahage entertainment. One movie I've had on my wishlist for a while but as far as I know is unavailable is the movie "A Wild Namahage" - about a boy who befriends a Namahage and tries to hide it from his overprotective mom. I really want to see this one. 💥
