Denying entry to British MPs shows how far Israel will go to cover up what is happening in the West Bank.

See Caabu's press release on Israel's denial of entry to Dr Simon Opher MP @simonforstroud.bsky.social and Dr @peterprinsleymp.bsky.social on a Caabu delegation.

It is very regrettable that Israeli authorities prevented them from seeing first-hand the challenges facing medical facilities in the region and hearing the British government’s assessment of the situation on the ground.

Palestinian communities continue to face unprecedented levels of violence from Israeli settlers and soldiers, trying to forcible dispossess and ethnically cleanse them. Places such as Umm al Khair know acutely and devastatingly the impact of policies of apartheid and military occupation.

Our condolences to the family and loved ones of Awdah Hathaleen, brutally murdered by an Israeli settler in his village of Umm al Khair in Masafer Yatta in the occupied West Bank.

A powerful advocate for his community, who spoke to Parliamentarians on several occasions. He will be sorely missed.

My friend Awdah Hathaleen was murdered today by an Israeli settler, in his village, the Palestinian Bedouin community of Umm al Khair. I am heartbroken. Rest in power, Awdah.

An Israeli settler (sanctioned by the UK) shot Awdah in the chest.
