“87…… 88…… 89……” Raph counted as he lifted the thickest barbell they owned.

Adam was standing behind his head in case he dropped it as Raph continued his pulls.

“90…… 91…… 92…… 93……” Raph continued with grunts and huffs.

Adam eyed the door as a not-so-subtle turtle in orange came sneaking in. From Raph’s angle, he couldn’t see him, and Mickey made sure he would not as he kept to his blind spot, silently shushing Adam to keep quiet. Adam gave him a questioning look until Mickey’s fingers suddenly found Raph’s sides, tickling him senselessly.

“9- urk!” Raph tried.

Adam just barely had the time to catch the barbell before it could clank heavily on his plastron. Raph quickly pushed it back to its stand before running after Mickey.

“Eep!”

“Mickey, get back here!”

“No way, bro! You’re just gonna tackle me!” Mickey answered, dashing around the dojo as he desperately tried escaping him.

No problem. I had the same reaction when checking it out, I was actually looking for people's reaction of that trailer's ai mention but the generic chatGPT posts absolutely drowned any possibility of seeing it. Lame.

It's because the new trailer for Tales of the TMNT's animated short just came out and in it, Donatello uses and loves chaptGPT. Bluesky made the association between those two terms and started showing chatGPT stuff. Since there's way more ai stuff than things about Donatello himself, it overtook it.

“This is my song!” Mickey gasped. “Come on everybody, let’s dance!”

“Mickey, get outta da way! ‘M watchin’ here.” Raph yelled back.

“Psh! It’s just for a few minutes.” Mickey waved off. “Don, come ooon, bro!”

He pulled Don away from the couch, holding his hands as he waved them around, his hips following the music’s beat. Don chuckled at his antics.

“Okay, okay, alright.” He quickly relented, starting a robotic dance.

“Psh, ya call that dancing?” Casey accused, jumping to his feet to start from very broken breakdancing. “Now this is dancing!”

“Bro, I bet even Raph could dance better than that.” Mickey told him.

“Ya ain’t gonna get me like -hic!- that.” Raph replied. “I ain’t gonna join ya, y’all look stupid.”

“Pfff, right.” Mickey rolled his eyes. “I bet at least Adam and Leo would come.”

“Leo?” Raph howled. “G’luck with that.”

“Come ooooon.” Mickey begged. He picked up both Adam’s and Leo’s teas, settling them on the table with his own before pushing both turtles to the dance floor. “Let’s dance!”

“U-Uh, no thanks.” Leo politely refused.

Even Mickey’s googly eyes did not convince him otherwise as he only settled on the armchair, making Mickey pout dramatically.

She was until recently when she appeared in a Saturday Morning Adventures comic, which is the 1987 comic that's still releasing new issues to this day. It was a big deal when it was announced that she would finally return after 35 years of absence. Everyone raved about the comic for weeks.

“Sup you guys!” The orange one suddenly greeted as he entered the room. “Look at you, eating all on your own! What a big boy you are!”

Paolo’s tail wagged. He took another bite of his fruit. The orange one took a photo of him.

“Say, are you doing anything with him after his snack?” The orange one asked.

“He’s in ma arms, ain’t he?” The red one replied.

The orange one rolled his eyes. “I mean, do you have anything specific in mind for him?”

“…What’re ya thinkin’?” The red one asked suspiciously.

“Well… April did give us a whole bunch of clothes and stuff… It would go easier to have a photoshoot with someone to help hold him and get him dressed…” The orange one answered.

The red one seemed to consider it for a moment.

“Ya better share them pics with me.” He warned.

“We haven’t forgotten anything?” Leo asked just as they were about to leave.

“Nope! Adam’s got Ellie, Mayhem’s been fed and all the rooms are closed, I got the food, and Raph’s got the booze!” Mickey listed. “I think we’re good to go.”

“Then let’s get going.” Don concluded.

“Shell yeah! Can’t believe it’s already been another year.” Mickey said. “Feels like it was just yesterday that we found Adam and Ellie.”

“It has been quite a busy year.” Leo agreed.

“Yeah, I’ll say.” Don added. “We now have two new family members-”

“Three! If you count Mayhem.” Mickey corrected.

“Right. Three new family members. We also started making a new train for LH.” Don said.

“And we forged new weapons and cross trained more.” Leo added.

“And I’m even better at cooking!” Mickey exclaimed.

All eyes turned to Raph.

“I uh… Ma shellcycle’s never been better.” He settled for.

Mickey elbowed him on the arm. “And we know you’re just all marshmallows over Ellie here.” He said. “Isn’t that right, Ellie?”

“Waff!” Ellie approved.

Raph grumbled, but one look from Ellie made him grin. He patted her head.

He briefly woke up when people shuffled near him, but they were quick to help him find sleep again. It was only a few hours after that that he realized he was alone. Even Ellie had been taken out of her crib, and his immediate thought woke him up instantly.

This was it. They had been attacked. Or they were gone. Or someone else had entered the lair.

He… He needed to find them.

He rapidly left his room, following the trail of scent from his family, which led him straight into the kitchen.

“Surprise!”

Oh shell!

He jumped back a few steps, his tanto tightly held by his whitened knuckles, still sheathed luckily. He didn’t even remember picking it up.

The other turtles were all aligned around the dining room table, but one look at Adam waned their smiles like candle wax over fire. It took a few seconds of Adam scanning around to realize there was no danger. It was just them, they were all fine. They had only decided to apparently give him a heart attack that day. No big deal.

The red one stopped in front of Paolo before crouching, something behind his back. He pulled out the item for him, handing it to him. It was a large blankie, of the same knitting stuff Paolo had seen before. It was a mix of light green and pink, with some lines of white through it.

It was really pretty.

Paolo gently picked it up. It was all soft and felt warm. He tested it on his cheeks to be sure.

Yep, soft and warm. He loved it.

“Thought ya might like somethin’ better than jus’ da hospital linen ya’d been usin’.” The red one explained. “Had these colors layin’ ‘round, so…”

Paolo lifted the thing in the air. The little dust it raised made him sneeze again, but he just cleaned the snot on his arm before sliding himself under the blankie, his head poking out the other side. The orange one grinned.

“Aw, a little sausage.” He cooed.
