All across the state, nurses took action this weekend to mourn the murder of Alex Pretti.

We're ready to channel our horror and anger into real action for our communities — we're calling for an immediate abolishment of ICE!

Nurses will crush ICE for our patients! Families and communities are being harmed, and we don’t have to fund it. Invest in our communities, not ICE! #AbolishICE

UCLA Santa Monica union nurses held a vigil honoring ICU nurse Alex Pretti, murdered in Minneapolis by federal agents. No hate, no fear, ICE is not welcome here!
January 30, 2026 at 6:00 PM
All across the state, nurses are gathering with our community to honor the life of Alex Pretti. We demand justice for all of those hurt and killed by ICE. 🕯️

We must protect our communities and #AbolishICE.

📣 150 nurses mobilized in the Bay this afternoon with a march to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors meeting. 📣

We support @sup-nikkifbas.bsky.social's measures to send a clear message: ICE isn't welcome here!

On both sides of the Bay last night, hundreds of nurses, other health care workers, and community members gathered at UCSF facilities to mourn the loss of our fellow nurse Alex Pretti and demand an end to ICE terror in our communities. 🕯️

Tonight outside Kaiser Oakland, nurses gathered to honor fellow registered nurse Alex Pretti and demand justice for his murder by federal immigration agents.

We are committed to the fight to #AbolishICE and build our vision for a healthy society.

Tomorrow, more than 150 RN leaders will march to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors meeting to back two critical proposals from @sup-nikkifbas.bsky.social:

❌ 🧊 ICE free zones and
📋 immigration enforcement response plans!

ICE is not welcome here!

California nurses are outraged over the death of Alex Pretti, RN, and making our demands clear: Abolish ICE now!

Armed secret police are a dire public health threat to our health, safety, and civil rights and democracy. Nurses believe in a world built on care, not harm.

#UnionStrong nurses know: Medicaid cuts will gut our hospitals. And when hospitals are gutted, lives are on the line.

Nurses heed the call. That's why we're kicking off the 🚨Red Alert🚨 hospital tour in Los Angeles today — to save our hospitals and protect our patients. https://t.co/eS8Nz4K9oJ

One year into Trump’s presidency, nurses are standing up to the cruelty of ICE: Nurses in Burbank joined actions across the country to show up for our patients, our communities, and immigrant families. Abolish ICE!

Solidarity with Minnesota. Union nurses know the power of collective action against injustice — whether it’s unsafe patient care or an inhumane deportation machine. We will keep fighting for justice, at the bedside and in the streets. ✊

Today marks what would have been the 53rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Since Roe was overturned, abortion access has been stripped away in many states. Nurses are clear: abortion is health care, and reproductive freedom is a human right.

@calhhs.bsky.social's proposed staffing standards for acute psych hospitals could create dangerous loopholes to California’s gold standard #SafeStaffing ratios.

Imagine: one RN caring for up to 24 patients. 😱

We fought hard to win safe staffing standards, and we’re here to defend them!
January 21, 2026 at 10:03 PM
California nurses are in Sacramento marching to defend RN-to-patient ratios! @calhhs.bsky.social can, should, and must extend the standards from EXISTING ratios instead of caving to hospital pressure to create new standards that threaten the #SafeStaffing that RNs fought for.

NYC nurses are holding strong for patient and nurse safety on Day 9! Today, nurses at Mount Sinai West were joined by healthcare justice allies Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders. Together, we're calling out corporate hospital greed and speaking out for safe staffing.

Salinas showed up to fight for guaranteed health care for all with CalCare.

Nurses honor Dr. King's radical legacy by fighting racism, exploitation, and injustice in health care and our communities. #MLKDay

When someone calls for help, nurses answer. As immigrants across the country face fear and violence from ICE, nurses are showing up, because we advocate for patients at the bedside and streets.

Nurses at Watsonville Community Hospital are fighting back against the proposed ICU closure.

As a critical safety net, closing the ICU would endanger our community and force critically ill patients to travel farther for life-saving care.

California union nurses were on Capitol Hill today calling to remove RFK Jr., fully fund NIOSH, pass the Protecting America's Workers Act, and stop the DOE rule that undermines professional degrees. 💪

For decades, the public has ranked nurses as the most ethical profession. It’s a trust we earn every day at the bedside through our fierce patient advocacy. Nurses are committed to this legacy by ALWAYS putting patients over profits!
