It’s my understanding Night Music was actually a retooled version of a show Sanborn pitched to Lorne Michaels called Sunday Night, which was pretty much the same format, but w/out Jools Holland. Wilmer came on as EP after they had already done one season of Sunday Night under a different EP.

Sanborn was the host of Hal Willner's "Night Music" - my favorite commercial TV music show of them all - and part of the R&R Hall of Fame's Butterfield Blues Band.

A few lightweight pop hits, yet unsurprising that he put on such a show like this.

My takeaway so far from TV Pete's mandatory corporate speech to military leadership: he really hates fat people, beards, and women. Also the silence from the room as he rambled about wokeness and "standards" was notable, including during the apparent laugh lines. Can't say whether he was sober.

I’ve seen Eraserhead, Elephant Man, Dune, the whole Twin Peaks series and movie, Blue Velvet, Wild At Heart, Inland Empire and Mulholland Drive. Add Twin Peaks to Blue Velvet and it’s disturbing. I’m not reassured that Lynch made a movie depicting terrorizing his girlfriend but she was “ok with it”.
