The lawsuit over Speaker Johnson’s refusal to swear in Adelita Grijalva has been assigned to a hardline conservative judge who was appointed by Trump during his first term.

Once seated, Grijalva would provide the final vote needed to force the release of the Epstein Files.

Line to the courtroom extends around the block — probably about 150 people showed up, more than enough to fill the courtroom.

Organizers with #FreeDC pointed out that deployment has been extended to end of November, and the admin wants to push it til 2026, meaning everyone deployed would not get to spend the holidays with their families.
HAPPENING NOW: Protest outside the federal court in DC over the National Guard’s extended deployment to the city.

I’ll be reporting today’s hearing for @couriernewsroom.bsky.social.
Some of the greatest hits include:

- $300 Million, WH ballroom
- $230 million, reimburse Trump’s legal fees
- $172 million, twin jets for Kristi Noem
- $1 billion, upgrade Trump’s personal jet
- $1.5 million (and counting), dip everything in gold
- $40 million (so far), Trump’s "legacy projects"
Shutdown does little to slow Trump's taxpayer-funded shopping spree
Private jets, gold-adorned ballrooms, and posters of the president's face are only a few of the $2 billion his administration has spent on vanity projects so far this year.

President Donald Trump centered the roundtable around ramping up far-right media coverage of immigration raids, and promised the group, which he loosely categorized as journalists, that they had the full protection of the United States government — as long as they portray him in a positive light.
Trump admin forms propaganda coalition to create ‘war zone’ imagery
In attendance were more than a dozen far-right media personalities, including several who have been appointed to run the country’s top law enforcement agencies.

A partial publication of Treasury docs has confirmed Trump’s fears and disproved his administration’s claim: within the just six pages are the names of Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and Bill Gates.

The shutdown halts the investigation and prevents the US Treasury from delivering any more records.
SCOOP: Johnson closed House hours after Congress received Epstein’s financial records
The decision to shut down the House — and by extension the government — came hours after the Oversight Committee received documents from the US Treasury.

"When the military has been used in countries where you have a dictatorship, the military is there to enforce the will of the dictator.

Shall I say that again? In America, the military is being used to enforce the will of the president.”

Trump admin stations troops in third US city ‘to enforce the will of the president’
Pre-positioning active military units allows for the immediate use of force in strategic locations should the president invoke the Insurrection Act.

This is actually a different amendment than Schumer’s. It’s probably just as likely to get blocked, but the financial angle could entice a Republican senator or two.
Very interesting - thanks for the tag
It was, the investigation started in 2022. From the article:

“Investigators obtained access to a small number of suspicious transaction reports from the US Treasury under the Biden administration in 2024, but Trump’s Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revoked access soon after Trump was inaugurated.”
I would love to look through that library
BREAKING: A bill introduced by @wyden.senate.gov would widen a congressional investigation into the finances behind Epstein’s sex trafficking operation to include American oligarch Peter Thiel, and known Epstein co-conspirators Nadia Marcinko and Jean-Luc Brunel.

Two new lists of Jeffrey Epstein’s potential clients and accomplices were announced on Wednesday: one from an ongoing congressional investigation, and another compiled by the deceased sex trafficker’s victims.
Senate releases list of 58 suspected Epstein co-conspirators as pressure in Congress builds
Epstein’s victims announced later that day they would publish a client list of their own if the Trump admin continued to withhold the Epstein Files from the public.

HAPPENING NOW: victims of Jeffrey Epstein speaking at the Capitol w/ Reps. @rokhanna.bsky.social and Thomas Massie on their investigation into Epstein’s criminal operation.
30 minutes late (and counting) to his 'proof of life' press conference, this should nip all that #trumpdead talk right in the bud.
Two weeks after President Donald Trump admitted that he knew his golf course was where Jeffrey Epstein groomed teenagers, his administration announced that it now wants to lower the age at which people are considered adults.
Trump’s solution to the Epstein scandal? Lowering the age of adulthood.

The IRS’ limitations have no bearing on Wyden’s investigation, which is compiling more evidence to justify an audit into Epstein’s finances.

But access to necessary documents has been revoked by the Trump administration, and Senate Republicans have refused to issue a subpoena to obtain them.
Trump fires IRS Chief after Senate orders audit of Epstein’s finances
While it’s unlikely the Trump loyalist would have complied, his dismissal helps run out the clock of the six-year statute of limitations for audits of the deceased.

According to FBI field offices, Cornyn's all talk.
On Thursday, US Sen. John Cornyn claimed the FBI agreed to join Texas law enforcement on a manhunt for Democratic state legislators who have stalled a vote to gerrymander congressional districts.

But after reaching out to the FBI, Cornyn’s claim appears to be little more than political theater.
FBI field offices aren’t helping Texas execute its symbolic warrants against Democrats
Sen. Cornyn's request appears to be too outlandish even for Patel’s FBI: the Chicago Field Office said agents haven't been assigned to execute Texas’ warrants.

Both banks had Trump as a client during his Epstein Era, and have shown that, at the end of the day, they’ll hand over incriminating evidence and do whatever they can to spare their shareholders — even at the expense of clients like Epstein and Trump.
Trump targets banks that gave up Epstein clients
The president named two banks as the targets of his retribution out of the 10 he claims "de-banked" him. And one thing that separates these from the rest? Jeffrey Epstein.
