Expedition 33's OST is like having a whole artist's entire yearslong career being dropped on us all at once. Even if you have zero interest in playing the game you should check out the soundtrack. There's overdelivering, and then there's whatever this is. Just epic.

There's few things I love more as both a storyteller and fan of media than those huge moments of continuity payoff. Where everything comes together and you suddenly realize everything mattered all along.

Something else I think about is how much these AI prompt jockeys are stealing the experience of writing from themselves, they don't even realize what they're losing out on, cos writing is wonderful and you can grow and learn so much about yourself, the process is a gift. They're robbing themselves.
Even beyond the quality argument, these people aren't even 'writers', they're just assholes hitting what they think is the FREE MONEY button. Which sometimes works, so they keep doing it. If they gave even one solitary shit about art or even storytelling they would know better. They just don't care.
"I can generate a book in a day, and it takes you 6 months to write one"
Have these prompt jockeys never heard the idiom quality over quantity before?

So Markiplier's self-financed, self-distributed passion project did better in cinemas this weekend than the regime wife's propumentary, which ate ass in receipts despite captured media scrambling to say "b-but it did okay actually". I love this for both of them

Megadeth appearing as themselves on Duck Dodgers and playing Back In The Day to fight aliens with the power of metal is right near the top of my personal list of "It feels like I fever dreamed this but I'm pretty sure it actually happened"

"QAnon were right all along about the global conspiracy of pedophile oligarchs having child sex slave orgies & manipulating world events, except they support everyone involved" is the kind of reality twist that could drive a motherfucker to their own personal Batman Who Laughs-tier villain arc

Person who comes to one of those "the wait staff are assholes to you, that's the gimmick" restaurants and is a little too into it to the point where the staff become unsure if things are still on the rails or if they're participating unwittingly in some manner of unculinary gratification

Mood though. I love autographing books if people want that but every time I do, impostor syndrome looms like a tidal wave and I have to keep reminding myself they asked for this. Stan Lee once talked about how great it is if a little scribble from you can make someone's day, but that goes both ways!
wildest experience of my life was signing like 2-3 different posters for ppl at the gig last night... wym i'm in a band where ppl want signed posters of shows we play... what.

You know, Spielberg made a movie about Lincoln and he had a whole-ass human dress up as Abe and say things in Abe's voice. There were sets. Props. Jobs given to the locations of filming. There was a key grip. Kylo Ren was there. You shame us all, Aronofsky, you don't have one whole-ass human in that

The trick with editing finished scenes isn't just correcting whatever's compelling the edit; it's maintaining the internal rhythm of the scene. Every scene has an internal rhythm and this can be very hard to articulate to people who don't write, but it is essential the scene keeps the right flow.
