A cautionary tale from the halls of higher education that might be worth sharing with your students as it makes a strong case for, well, LEARNING instead of using AI

Do not mess with librarians. They let complete strangers borrow their books. For a living. Even the hardcovers. They are so much stronger than you know.

In case anyone wants to borrow this, I made a visual of the many roles of the school librarian using napkin.ai based off of a collaborative document & discussion thread by MA school librarians.
Schools NEED school librarians.

Teachers and librarians will lead the resistance. Wish I could hug this hero, and tell her she is brave!
An Idaho teacher has refused a request by the Meridian school district to remove two classroom posters: one that reads, “Everyone is welcome here.” The other says that everyone in the classroom is "welcome, important, accepted, respected, encouraged, valued" and "equal."
Teacher ordered to remove signs from classroom, including one saying ‘Everyone is welcome here’
"There are only two opinions on this sign: Everyone is welcome here, or not everyone is welcome here,” argues Sarah Inama, a sixth-grade history teacher.
