Halloween movies keep going. In juxtaposition to the Nightmare remake... I've rewatchdd Freddy VS Jason and I just love that movie. Its like a feel good movie for me 😅

... whereas the remake goes too far in spelling it out I feel, all leading up to an ending that felt rushed and falls flat.

All in all, it had some cool moments, but it was a bummer for fans of the franchise and did little to reinvigorate it for a new audience.

... Freddy has always been surreal and the make up style was made with that in mind. Instead, Jackie Earl Hayley is left looking like a melted wax figure with no way to emote through thay goop on his face. It just ends up looking silly.

Secondly, the original left Freddy's crimes up in the air...

As far as the 2010 remake goes, its not great, but it does a few cool things. The micro naps was a great idea. The acting is overall pretty good as well. But it falls flat in two big ways in my opinion.

The make up is the first big miss. I get they wanted a "more realistic" burn look, but...

Continuing the horror binge, decided to rewatch of the 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street.

Thoughts in the comments, but it reminded me why I was possessed to write my own take on what a new Nightmare could look like.

Rewatched The Exorcism of Emily Rose for the first time in ages.

Still holds up! Not what I would call "scary", but definitely some disturbing imagery, not today mention great acting. Definitely near the top of my list for exorcism movies.

Truth. Doesn't make it any less hard. I was able to run a business for 13 years before I had to close up in order to help my mom when she got real sick. But for 13 years I did it. Now to find the strength to do it again ❤️

Same thing with Joan Jett. She got rejected by 23 record labels before self publishing her debut album which had the hit "I Love Rock n Roll". I repeated that story over and over when I was trying to start a store front years ago.
