I posted this the next day and, well, yeah. Here we are. Another reason to remove Schumer as Minority Leader.
Nothing has changed substantively since Alex Pretti was murdered, but thanks to Chuck Schumer and his media tour telling everyone he successfully struck a deal to "rein in" DHS, millions of normies think everything is okay now.
Dem leadership is still sleepwalking and negotiating against themselves while middle aged working people freezing their asses off on the streets of Minnesota figured this out long ago and aren’t planning on standing down or giving an inch.

One thing about the chapter setup is you do repeat the 'you're level one, go kill basic enemies until you can afford some better gear and a few levels so one encounter doesn't kill you' arc several times in a row.

Ch2 time. This time we get the princess, plus a cleric and mage, though her final stretch is to win a tournament, so she still ends up soloing the end of her chapter.

At first I was like "Oh shit, this game has been in development for so long Goldthwait died before it came out." and then I checked and he isn't dead yet and was more surprised by that than him being in the cat eugenics game.
I think McMillen gets away with the defense of how long this game was in the oven and that the list of cameos is... literally everyone ever. (Maybe that's why you shouldn't have cameos in your projects.)

The chapters are a lot shorter than I remember, but part of that is emulation meaning I can always fast forward. Ch1 is literally town, dungeon, town, dungeon, dungeon, boss. A bit of grinding for gear at the start and that's it.

If we're sticking to video games, Sweet Home is a very underrated horror RPG, especially considering how solid it is for the time period.
I also like to toss CAIN in for TTRPGs, mostly because its the most fun I've had making the player characters suffer.
