Talks on #COP30’s Global Goal on Adaptation are stuck behind closed doors. Communities can’t wait.

1/3 Canada spoke at the Baku High-Level Dialogue on Adaptation today — solid words, but no real movement.

Plenty of references to the UAE Framework for Climate Resilience, indicators, the adaptation policy cycle, cooperation, etc.
All accurate and constructive — but very procedural.

PIPELINES ARE SO BORING
Can a Canadian leader please come up with some better ideas for prosperity? @mark-carney.bsky.social Trudeau already bought a pipeline, and instead of bringing prosperity, it’s costing us billions in taxpayer subsidies every year. Come on www.thestar.com/politics/fed...

Meanwhile, Enbridge’s CEO just called again (during a speech in Toronto) for industrial pricing to end, which is another reminder that the oil and gas industry is not serious about carbon capture, and Carney will need to play hardball if he is.

At the UN Climate Summit today, many of Canada's allies will reaffirm & strengthen their commitment to climate action—but PM Carney will be notably absent.

Amid increasing uncertainty over this government's climate approach, we need to know: is Canada in, or out?
