Please know that I’ve been mentally referring to this app as “blue-ski” this entire time and I don’t think I can stop now.

I adored Maybe Happy Ending. Laughed, cried, decided I’m never going to recycle an iPhone again 😭. (Also this $50 barely obstructed balcony seat is a steal!)

I’m excited for the Swifties disappointed by by The Life of a Showgirl to realize that Lover is the real “1989 bops with Folklore lyrics” album. She just chose bad singles!

I guess it's a matter of semantics, in a way. He might not be the hero on a plot-level, but I do think he's supposed to be the likeable, relatable protagonist we're rooting for in a way that still positions him as the "hero" of the film.

I try, I try. There’s just so much to know!

I may not have the encyclopedic knowledge of film history I wish I did, but at least I have this.

I know I’m a true theater kid at heart because even though I’m not familiar with the Kiss of the Spider Woman score, I immediately recognized one of the songs from a Gavin Creel miscast performance.

Pritzker: "People of Illinois, we need your help. Get our your cell phones, record and narrate what you see. Put it on social media. Peacefully ask for badge numbers and identification. Speak up for your neighbors. We need to let the world know that this is happening and that we won't stand for it."

Also, if you flip Leo and Teyana Taylor’s roles the movie immediately becomes a thousand times more interesting. As is, her character was absolutely baffling to me. All iconography with zero interiority (despite Taylor’s best efforts)

Like, I enjoy a glib crime caper as much as the next person. But in this case all the shallow political trappings wound up undercutting the story instead of adding to it. Genuinely confused what people find thematically insightful about it?

Sometimes I can see what other people enjoyed about a movie, even if I didn’t connect to it myself. And other times, the movie is One Battle After Another.

Need a crossover where the K-Pop Demon Hunters team up with Lady Raven.

Wish I had more of one for you! I reached out to Alasdair a few weeks ago and haven't heard back yet. I'll definitely let you know if/when I get an update, though!

Revisiting all the details of the Kill Bill car crash footage that was released in 2018 and this quote from Tarantino feels like something out of a Christopher Guest movie 🙃 deadline.com/2018/02/quen...
TARANTINO: I’ve tried not to dive into the reaction too desperately. It seemed the reactions were kind of hysterical. I didn’t think the New York Times piece was absolutely horrible, it was all the other articles, extrapolating from what they thought the New York Times piece was saying. And there became this narrative out there. Are these asshole male auteurs out of control? Can no one tell them no? At what price, art? Owen Gleiberman writes a piece saying Quentin needs to say what he was thinking, and what was on his mind when he forced Uma to get into that car!

DEADLINE: And now you have.

TARANTINO: I kind of agree with that narrative, except I didn’t feel I was guilty of it.
