Lunch with friends in a very remote location. Alan’s gone with owner to look at recent work they’ve been doing. I’m sitting & drawing.
There’s 2 houses, 2 granny flats, bunk room, hunting lodge, 2 hunting huts, bee hives, dozens of chickens, deer, cows, goats etc. Just magic.

I want to cry. Alan’s daughter needs more support post brain surgery than she’d said. I’m NOT surprised. Being super independent doesn’t always work.
So, now juggling family dynamics, his time, my work, blah blah.

My paint water is two white ceramic jars from a gold coin type shop. I remember when I bought them saying they look so lovely, I’ll wash my brushes & change the water every time I stop painting.

I tend come home, sit & chat then end up cast for evening so no meal prep, too little art time.
Alan’s working, had put meat in slow cooker, so thought ok just do it.
I’ve prepared veges, prepped 3 breakfasts, washed dress I spilt lunch on. 30 minutes & it’s sorted.

I watch a lot of art process videos. I’m seeing more & more artists do the “influencer waving their fingers over the journal/desk/materials” before their start. Why? It’s so unnecessary.
