Friends,
Does anyone know of art classes for folks who are older or have severe cases of arthritis and have difficulty with say, holding brushes?
Trying to engage my elderly mom who used to love art.
Thank you!

Good crowd at the @mprnews.org State Fair booth for the 29th annual State Fair Weather Quiz with the legendary Mark Seeley.
We gave away my grade school attempt at crop art at the Minnesota State Fair Friday.
The winner was very kind with her praise. I don’t think I’ll make another attempt, but will say it was a zen-like experience.

Last year’s MN State Fair crop art had a lot of Tim Walz. This year, there are several pieces honoring the Hortmans, understandably, and also several Pedro Pascals, also kind of understandably.
Thank you to everyone who was at the live @twincitiespbs.bsky.social Almanac show at the @mprnews.org State Fair booth.
Good crowd.
Great fun!

Loving this year's record number of crop art pieces at the State Fair but unsure how to get started yourself? That's how MPR News host @cathywurzer.bsky.social felt, so she enlisted some help.

Here's how she took it from a seed of an idea to a full-grown hobby.

A kernel of peace: MPR News host Cathy Wurzer finds her zen in crop art
With more submissions than ever before, it’s a bumper year for crop art at the Minnesota State Fair. So MPR News host Cathy Wurzer decided that this summer, it was finally time to give it a try.

Who’s the best radio station pup ever?!
This is Pepperoni who hangs out in the lobby of WTIP radio in Grand Marais.
I was there to raise $ and awareness of the plight of small public stations after federal funding vanished.
Cool staff. Great fun. Good cause.

Great shot, full of the history and tradition of small stations broadcasting out into their local communities.

Morning Edition is live from WTIP in Grand Marais today! @cathywurzer.bsky.social will speak with the mayor and Visit Cook County’s exec director, we hear from the state fire marshal about the Lutsen Lodge investigation, we go hunting for agates, and much more! Tune in @mprnews.org
Funding cuts bring me to Grand Marais, Mn on Lake Superior’s North Shore, to highlight the uncertain future of WTIP radio. They do good work for their community.
Listen at mprnews.org for their story and today’s news.
What a sad/weird day for the Mn. media community.
The funding fallout at Twin Cities PBS meant some staff lost jobs today.
@kare11.bsky.social local shows were knocked off the air by a transformer fire.
They did the news from the Shoreview tele-farm. Where most of the MSP’s broadcast towers are)
Wasn’t that a good story?!
Damn. It’s almost cold out there!!
What happens when you have a shoestring staff.
Such sad news.
A smart, savvy man, David Gergen served four presidents and leaves behind a legacy in public service.
He has died at the age of 83.
I had the honor of talking to him last year when he was in town.
