It worked for Minnesota! The “fraud” investigations chased the governor away. So he figures he might as well try to chase Newsom away. It is incredible that this man who leads the country doesn’t lead for all Americans. Instead he goes after the half who didn’t vote for him.

We are a country whose Constitution, according to the Supreme Court, gives our own presidents immunity for crimes committed while in office, but we will prosecute presidents of other countries for alleged crimes and invade them to execute arrest warrants.

Angus: We see this attack as setting the stage for an attack where Trump could go anywhere. The same language he’s used against Venezuela, he’s used against Canada—and he sees that we have immense resources. The difference is, good luck thinking that you are going to break the Canadian people.

Trump and Maduro are both terrible leaders. Would the US be ok with someone kidnapping Trump and installing their own people to “run” the country? Would the world watch if Trump kidnaps our PM and takes over Canada, installing his own sycophants? This is insane stuff that US leaders are allowing.

The author of the article clearly doesn’t understand “backfiring.” The actions of US Border services are certainly backfiring on them! The “more detailed controls” are just reinforcing the decisions Canadians are making not to travel to the US.
I love the logic here: the huge success of the Canadian boycott has "backfired" because there are now more stringent checks on the Canadians who do cross over.

The author of the article clearly doesn’t understand “backfiring.” The actions of US Border services are certainly backfiring on them! The “more detailed controls” are just reinforcing the decisions Canadians are making not to travel to the US.
Canada also survived 2025 because CUSMA helped keep the tariffs generally at bay. With CUSMA up for review in 2026, and unlikely to negotiate in good faith, 2026 could bring some trouble. I still have faith in PM Carney and his team expanding trade with other countries and internally.

It will be interesting to see how Zelenskyy’s meeting with the US President tomorrow compares to this support from Canada today. I’m sure it will be a study in contrasts.

Yes we most certainly did. In our home we choose Canadian as much as we can - finding Canadian alternatives for most things we use. I am glad our government is doing the same.
This year, millions of Canadians made the choice to buy Canadian — and by introducing our new Buy Canadian Policy, so did Canada’s new government.
