I have been lucky enough to travel to Greenland a few times. It is a beautiful land with beautiful people. They don't deserve this kind of worry and fear. Just leave them alone and let the Kalaallit rule themselves and their traditional lands.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, or Alice in Chains.

The whole movie One Battle After Another was great, but the way they filmed the car chase was cinematic genius.

Taught my last class of the semester yesterday, nothing but the grading left. It was a mixed bag, with some M & Ms and a few raisins.

Got to see my favorite movie, The Warriors (1979), on the big screen last night. I was too young when it came out in theaters originally, so it was a great to finally see it in that venue. Still think the Baseball Furies should've been better with their bats than they were.

Slow news day I know but ICYMI here’s my piece for @newrepublic.com about how 50 years ago Ernest Becker sketched out a surprisingly durable diagnosis for many aspects of our current nightmare
The One Percent’s Fear of Death Is Wreaking Havoc on the World
Ernest Becker’s The Denial of Death posited that we act out in antisocial ways—and even embrace authoritarians—because we cannot face our own unavoidable demise.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr announced last week that the US federal government is terminating US$500 million worth of grants for mRNA vaccine research.

We must never, ever, forget that millions are alive today, or in better health, because of this life-saving technology.

Cancelling mRNA studies is the highest irresponsibility
The rest of the world is not following the US government’s dangerous path, and will stick with the technology that helped the world out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
