Immigration enforcement agents arrested more than 950 people in the state from July 29 to October 15, but new data shows that many of those arrested don’t have criminal records.
Immigration arrests in Washington state surged in recent months
Just over 31% of those arrested in Washington between the end of July and mid-October had criminal convictions. Roughly another 17% had pending criminal charges. That’s compared to about 40% and 18%, respectively, in the rest of the year.
