My conspiracy theory is Howie’s lovely speech about Nick at end of the press conference was a way to boost Nick’s trade value. That way they can get something for Nick and get an offensive head coach that will force the issue with Jalen.

I think more teams should go more executive-run than coach-run. I think the importance of coaches has been overstated and now all these smart boys are all just competing for smartest boy.

Jalen and Nick have a very odd relationship but I think they’ve both reached a point now where they appreciate the other’s value. When this thing finally crashes and burns, it’s either gonna be Nick or Jalen’s fault or both; it behooves each to make sure the other doesn’t fail as long as possible.

Because nobody wants to remember 2020-2021 for obvious reasons, people forget how toxic the Eagles were when Doug got fired. Howie was getting booed at Phillies games. He was best known for taking Reagor over Jefferson and was about to take on the largest dead cap hit in league history with Wentz.

I don’t think the Brian Johnson situation is similar to the KP one from a Sirianni’s fault perspective. In 2023, he didn’t trust Brian Johnson to run the show completely which he needed to do bc his defense forgot tackle. In 2025, he trusted KP too much.

With the season over, it’s clear KP was a snake oil salesman coach who tied himself to Nick and got to his position off the talent of his players. He got away with it up to a certain point because he’s such a great guy.
