I hear what you guys are saying about the Oscars, and how they're a celebration of life, and the show must go on, blah-blah-blah, so-on-and-so-forth. It all makes a degree of sense, but to me it still feels like Nero fiddling while Rome burns. Or in this case, wearing fancy clothes while LA burns.

I could not even finish the Vulture article on Niel Gaiman. All I hope is that Sir Pterry did not know. Because if he did, and did nothing, that will effectively ruin my childhood.

Chief MAGGAT/Q comes in an hour earlier to work - 'its quiet and I can get a lot of work done'. Procceeds to spend entire hour discussing latest Q talking points with my manager (who is also Q). Every single day. I come in an hour earlier and actually work.

I am in for a nightmare if/when H5N1 gets worse.
