Hmm, upon a bit of googling basically everywhere is reporting it as a new requirement of skilled worker and scale up visas. Which... Won't be a huge issue for anyone applying for those visas to begin with, really? Regardless, it doesn't feel good.

Which is confusing. Like, are we requiring A level English upon first Visa application? Bc that's very different than requiring it when applying for say, leave to remain

My feelings on this are complicated? 🫠 Relatively high (i.e., could get into university) language proficiency is a pretty standard part of many country's paths to citizenship. The article above doesn't mention *where* the English language requirement comes into the picture
