I have on occasion been on the road and thought I’d share some photos of what I saw along the way. Photos by me or an immediate family member. If using my photos to train AI please tag them incorrectly and say they are of Mars. #Americana #Photography

Its a pretty good swamp, but its over 10 miles away from The GREAT Swamp (where the UFOs landed in Orson Welles version of The War of the Worlds... it was swamp gas all along)

When you arrive at the railway platform really late but then realize the train hasn't even arrived yet.

It may be awhile before the train arrives. Buffalo Central Terminal abandoned since 1979. So many family adventures, reunions, and business trips started right her and now just weeds

a row of abandoned passenger train platforms. All in a site of disrepair and rot. Weeds cover the ground.

Wow… that’s a typo worthy of Twin Peaks, which is what I tried to write.

Even though I know historically the Roman statues were painted originally and only became bare stone from the ravages of time, I still find painted statues a bit jarring.

That said this is a cool statue commemorating the bravery of local firemen.

Owego, NY
A statue of a fireman holding a baby. The statue is painted with the helmet being red and black and the jacket a bright blue.

Twin Prams!! (and a cameo in Northern Exposure I believe)

In the early aughts or late nineties there was a website devoted to a person’s “magic camera“ an early digital camera that had been water damaged. I remember the photos being amazing. Like this.

‎Letchworth State Park, Genesee Falls, New York - near Portageville.

These are the upper falls (I've shown these Falls a few times recently, but always in context of the extremely photogenic train trestle this is above it).

2/2. Falls in Fall.

Letchworth State Park, The Lower Falls of the Genesee Falls, New York - near Portageville.

What if there were 4 sets of falls? would one set be called "not quite Low Falls"

These are the lower falls (which in no way is a statement about their character).

They made the mountain just an itty bit taller. Reminds me of the movie: The Englishman Who Went up a Hill but Came down a Mountain

Sometimes on a beautiful day you just want to lie down and take a nap.

Frenchtown, New Jersey

A large stone statue of a woman lying down and resting in front of a victorian home. If the statue was in the standing position it would likely be two stories tall.

It was “designed” on a napkin. There was another warehouse on the island that also stored gunpowder, but that one blew up about a hundred years ago.

That just proves how dangerous and well funded the radical left is! They’re out there hacking the feeds and using their hacker skillz photoshopping out all the sky high flames and mushroom clouds!!!

The Bannerman Castle on Bannerman Island near Beacon, NY. Sitting in the middle of the Hudson River, just slightly north of West Point sits an Island with a couple castles. This is the big one built to be a warehouse storing tons and tons of gunpowder, far away from anyone.

Almost a repeat from last week but taken about 20 feet further away and with a different lens (well its an iPhone so just a different setting honestly), but it makes for a dramatically different view.

Is it because our brain still remembers our distance lives of being fishes that makes being on the water so calming. Sometimes you just need to watch the water and #Relax
