The Maryland, Virginia, DC area is filled with black squirrels - they are beautiful and seem smaller than the grey squirrel. The ones in Washington DC are all from a batch Teddy Roosevelt brought back with him from a trip to Canada. Over 100 years later their descendants are all over the DC area.

Thank you! I took the picture because I saw that the kudzu (the vine covering some bushes) was making a comeback, despite that town’s decades long battle to get rid of it.

This is amazing and alien, I've enjoyed all of your pictures of Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah and it is now on my bucket list of places to visit. I'll have to find an excuse to drive across the country again!
