The latest data shows that young people's mental health is in major decline. Inaction is not an option. Alongside @cfyounglives.bsky.social @cypmentalhealth.bsky.social & Young Minds, we're calling for rapid and sustained investment to turn the tide: www.centreformentalhealth.org.uk/publications...
The latest data confirms that more and more young people are struggling with their mental health. Young adults (aged 16-24) have had both the highest rates of mental health problems (25.8%) and the biggest increase in these rates. (NHS Digital, 2025)

Our research published last week shows how the Covid pandemic is still casting a long shadow over the lives of many children in England.

We need to give our children back the time, space, opportunity, freedom - and the right - to play again.

We’ve set out a bold and necessary vision and framework to restore play to the heart of childhood in England.

We urge this mission-led Government to act upon it.
cfyounglives.bsky.social
The Commission has been chaired by Paul Lindley with the support of 20 expert commissioners and we received and heard evidence from 100s of experts, campaigners, organisations, parents, and - crucially - children.
cfyounglives.bsky.social
We’ve put forward a positive vision of a country where children’s play is at the heart of government strategy and our public spaces, and where it is embedded across education, health, local government and beyond.

Today our year-long Raising the Nation Play Commission into why play is critical to the wellbeing and development of children publishes its Final Report, #EverythingToPlayFor.

It’s time to reclaim childhood with a National Play Strategy for England.

The Raising the Nation Play Commission publishes its final report tomorrow.

Children’s voices have been crucial to our work.

We asked children from Surrey Square Primary to help us imagine the future of play in England.

This was one of our top ten asks of the new govt a year ago. We've repeated that call in two other reports since. It’s a welcome decision and an important step forward that will help 1000s of children.

🚨 NEW: Labour is lifting 100,000 children out of poverty by expanding access to free school meals.

Alongside free breakfast clubs, cheaper uniform costs and government-funded childcare, Labour is putting money in parents’ pockets and giving children the best start in life.
cfyounglives.bsky.social
Scrapping the cruel and unfair two child limit immediately lifts children out of poverty.

“Rebadged” press releases don’t pay bills, and decisions should be based on boosting life chances and reducing barriers to success, not “political capital”.

I couldn’t agree more! I was discussing with @simonknight100.bsky.social about the need for a definition of inclusion!
I find this report to be genuinely hopeful- a fresh approach, honest and thoughtful.
Thank you

Insightful, timely and hopeful report. Particularly drawn to the concept of ‘inclusion by design’ - inclusion shouldn’t be a bandwagon, a commercial enterprise or the latest fad, but a lever for social justice baked into the whole system.

Today we publish “Everyone Included: Transforming our education system to be ambitious about inclusion”, supported by Mission 44. We put forward a new definition of inclusion and provide an overall inclusion score for each council area in England.
