This morning at #AEC2025 we heard from the Epilepsy Pathway Innovation in Africa (EPInA) team. From 2019 to 2024, the EPInA team worked in Accra, Nairobi, Kilifi, and Mahenge, aiming to improve all aspects of the #epilepsy treatment pathway: prevention, diagnosis, treatment and awareness
The Artificial Intelligence Workshop at #AEC2025 in Zambia brought together researchers working in #AI with people affected by #epilepsy to develop priorities for the future of AI and epilepsy in Africa

Today an honorary adult neurologist & Zimbabwean helping the first locally delivered Epilepsy Training in Adult Medicine Course in Africa with Prof Gift Ngwende and brilliant young faculty. #epilepsy @ilae-epilepsy.bsky.social @bpna.bsky.social uofglasgow.bsky.social @cgepilepsy.bsky.social
Today the team taught the first ETAM course to 48 local faculty and delegates. They learned about essential topics such as diagnosis, treatment and patient care strategies. The course aims to increase #epilepsy expertise in resource-limited settings to improve outcomes for people with epilepsy.
This week Centre for Global Epilepsy team members and collaborators have traveled to Harare, Zimbabwe, to help deliver the #Epilepsy Training in Adult Medicine (ETAM) and Solving Stigma in Epilepsy courses.
