About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages

By far, the dumbest people on this app are the ones who think the economy can “crash”

It’s like they were asleep when the Fed eliminated crashes in 2008, 2020, and the SVB bank run in like 2023.

There isn’t a mathematical mechanism for the economy to be ALLOWED to crash

I think what has been done to Gaza is criminal and the Israel govt officials involved should be held accountable in criminal court

Also the Fed subsidized the venture capital ecosystem with zero interest loans for far too many years which drove inflation much higher with no returns

It isn’t though. It’s roughly 42%.

There is his cult and he picked up a lot of other demographics since 2021. Low info voters surged in his favor in 2024 as well as 65% of Hispanic men ended up voting for him. Also Gen Z men voted for him at like 60% or so.

There is zero evidence voters give a fck about the economy. It’s laughable to think this. The economy and stock market is relentlessly manipulated by the Fed to go up only infinity and this has been the status quo since 2008. Everyone knows the economy and stock market won’t be allowed to decline

Bukele fired the Supreme Court, 1/3 of judges in El Salvador, and the AG and replaced them with loyalists…not because he needed to in order to fight crime, but because he needed to get around the constitutional ban on reelection, and shut down corruption investigations against his administration.
