Mitchell Robinson will miss his second straight game tomorrow with ankle injury management.

Brown said after the game yesterday nothing new happened and they’ve just played a lot lately.

A fun thing about gardening is when you do something (install an arch trellis in one raised bed) and 5 minutes later look at it and realize it would be better to do something else (put it in a different bed)

What a wild way to learn Chubby Checker is still alive
The death of Brigitte Bardot necessitated the update of this marvelous chart. Only three people mentioned in Billy Joel's banger "We Didn't Start The Fire" are still alive. Source: buff.ly/cWkphRB

super cool that UPS is apparently intentionally slowing down base level packages then offering to speed it up if you pay more. (original delivery date was today)

Fun fact: most school districts have dramatically increased the radius for kids to be eligible for busses! Then consider the lack of viable public transit and safe bike lanes. The options are either drop the kid off or have them walk 1-2 miles on roads that might not even have sidewalks.
Why the fuck is everybody dropping off their kid at school personally like a little chauffeur? Put them on the fucking bus, you're not a fuckin driver. You're not a fucking slave.

Do not listen to this, first check your health insurance plan and see if vasectomy costs count towards your deductible. If so, wait until January!
There is going to be such a baby boom 9 months after It Happens, honestly friends get your long term birth control or vasectomies ASAP because you don't want to have to be thinking about that when the celebratory orgies start

So apparently by like 5 blocks we are now in a new congressional district and it might actually be a competitive one based on which parts of Austin got folded into it?

Hard to believe we found a group that the “bets on preseason games” group has the moral high horse on and yet
People who bet on this on Kalshi are not pleased. Lol

We’re well past the point of never getting an American Pope again and rapidly approaching all American Catholics being kicked out of the church lmao
The first American pope has received a papal lawn mower for use around the Vatican Gardens.

You don’t gotta hand it to him but goddamn I am salivating at the idea of a tiny ass shitbox (positive) EV Toyota pickup finally being made.

Also, I’m almost positive that USPS “loses” money on Amazon. So yeah maybe they lose $6B in revenue but it might save them $8B in expenses.
An economic policy reporter really should know better than to categorize operational costs of a constitutionally required service as a revenue loss or negative profit margin. You don’t see them do this when talking about the DoD budget or the money required for interstate upkeep.
🚨SCOOP: Amazon is preparing to sever ties with USPS and expand its shipping network as a true coast-to-coast rival.

It could cost USPS more than *$6 billion* a year in lost revenue, and lead Amazon to dominate yet another facet of the economy.

USPS posted a *$9 billion* loss in 2025.

As someone who grew up in the Adirondacks I can confirm all of this and will also add that you want to keep any damp clothing on throughout the day and especially at night. The water will help insulate you and protect your skin from frostbite.
Hey, I want to offer some helpful tips for coping with the cold for ICE folks who might have come from warmer places.

1. Wear cotton socks! Cotton is nice and soft next to your skin and will absorb your sweat so your feet stay warm. Cotton everything but ESPECIALLY socks!
Good morning to fuckers in our neighborhood kidnapping our neighbors! Can you see the city skyline? No? You’re wondering if Minneapolis burned down again overnight? Oh no, sweetie. That’s ice crystals in the air . It looks like it will get to around -8F without windchill! Please enjoy your stay!

Special elections are causing optimism among the left/liberals that Dems can win the House and maybe even the Senate thereby requiring Dems to actually do shit so naturally Jeffries is out here today stamping out that hope.
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

The Hold Steady starting their shows this weekend at 8:30 with no opener is a sign of a quickly aging fan base. Gonna have to rename it Larger Nights Where You Have Three Beers But Are In Bed At A Normal Time.

And they’re just using it to summarize the presentations and papers they’re asking managers and employees to write about major business decisions for their “review”
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

Atlanta’s approach solves what imo is the biggest non real estate related obstacle to entering existing food deserts: surviving the first few years as you address potential volume swings week to week if it’s a lower income area and amass purchasing power
Turns out Mamdani's controversial proposal for government-run supermarkets isn't so novel. Other cities also are toying with the idea to bring fresh, affordable food to communities that do not have easy access to it. Good WSJ read (gift link)
